SMC6 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SMC6 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SMC6 antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SMC6 is primarily located in the nucleus, where SMC6 plays a vital role in maintaining genomic integrity. SMC6 presence in the nucleus is crucial for the repair of DNA double-strand breaks, which can occur during DNA replication or due to environmental stressors. SMC6, in conjunction with SMC5, forms a complex essential for homologous recombination repair, a process that ensures accurate DNA repair and prevents chromosomal rearrangements that could lead to genomic instability.
