SEE ALSO...

SmarcAL1 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SmarcAL1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SmarcAL1 (A-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SmarcAL1, also known as SWI/SNF-related matrix-associated Actin-dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily A-like protein 1, is a 954 amino acid member of the SWI/SNF family of helicase and ATPase proteins, primarily localized in the nucleus. SmarcAL1 plays a crucial role in ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling, which is essential for regulating gene expression and maintaining chromatin structure. SmarcAL1 contains a conserved C-terminal SNF2 domain, a helicase ATP-binding domain, and two HARP domains, all of which are vital for chromatin dynamics. Defects in the gene encoding SmarcAL1 are linked to Schimke immuno-osseous dysplasia (SIOD), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by renal dysfunction, spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, and T cell immunodeficiency, highlighting SmarcAL1′s significance in human health and disease.

I am using SmarcAL1 (A-2): sc-376377 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
