SEE ALSO...

Smad4 Antibody (DCS-46) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Smad4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Smad4, also known as DPC4, plays a crucial role in the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) and bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathways, acting as a central mediator that integrates signals from various Smad family members. anti-Smad4 antibody (DCS-46) recognizes nuclear-localized Smad4, where Smad4 forms complexes with other Smad proteins to regulate gene expression in response to extracellular signals. Nuclear localization of Smad4 enables direct influence on transcriptional programs controlling cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Dysregulation of Smad4 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, making Smad4 an important target for research. Smad4 monoclonal antibody (DCS-46) serves as an essential tool for studying the dynamics of TGF-β/BMP signaling and its implications in health and disease.

I am using Smad4 (DCS-46): sc-73599 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
