Six1 Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Six1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Six1 (B-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Six1, a member of the sine oculis homeobox family of transcription factors, plays a crucial role in developmental processes and cellular differentiation. Six1 protein′s ability to regulate gene expression is vital for proper embryonic development, particularly in muscle and kidney formation. Notably, Six1 expression is typically low or absent in normal adult tissues but is found to be overexpressed in several tumor types, including breast carcinoma. This aberrant expression can disrupt normal cell cycle regulation, specifically by abrogating the G2 cell cycle checkpoint, which may contribute to tumor progression. Six1 interaction with other transcription factors, such as SIX4, further underscores its importance in gene regulation and highlights the potential for targeting this pathway in cancer therapies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514441 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
