SEE ALSO...

SCO1 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SCO1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCO1 Antibody (D-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCO1 protein plays a vital role in mitochondrial function, specifically in the insertion and transport of copper to the active site of cytochrome c oxidase (COX), which is essential for cellular energy production as COX serves as the terminal enzyme in the respiratory chain. Proper functioning of SCO1 is crucial, particularly in tissues with high oxidative phosphorylation demands, such as the brain, heart, and muscle. Deficiencies in SCO1 gene can lead to cytochrome c oxidase deficiency, a heterogeneous disorder that disrupts energy metabolism, while mutations in SCO2 gene can result in a severe condition known as cardioencephalomyopathy with cytochrome c oxidase deficiency, characterized by life-threatening symptoms in infants. Anti-SCO1 antibody (D-1) effectively detects this important protein, making SCO1 (D-1) antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial function and related disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398001 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
