RYBP Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects RYBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RYBP antibody (A-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RYBP, or RING1- and YY1-binding protein, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly in developmental processes, by being a key component of the mammalian polycomb complex. RYBP protein is essential for maintaining transcriptional repression of important developmental genes, including homeotic genes, which are vital for proper organismal development. RYBP′s interaction with E2F2 and E2F3 family members is particularly significant, as RYBP relies on the marked box domain within these proteins to stimulate Cdc6 promoter activity synergistically during the G1/S phase of the cell cycle. RYBP protein forms complexes with RING1 proteins and M33, which are integral to the polycomb group′s function in gene silencing. Widespread expression of RYBP, especially in lymphoid tissues and the placenta, underscores RYBP′s importance in various biological processes and highlights RYBP′s potential as a target for research in developmental biology and cancer studies.

I am using RYBP (A-1): sc-374235 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
