RKIP Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Raf kinase inhibitor protein (RKIP) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RKIP is a crucial cytosolic protein that plays a significant role in regulating the MAP kinase signaling pathway, which is vital for cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. RKIP (D-5) antibody targets a protein primarily located in the cytoplasm, where RKIP interacts with the serine/threonine kinase Raf-1, inhibiting Raf-1 activity and thereby modulating downstream signaling events. This regulation is particularly important as RKIP prevents excessive activation of MEK, a key substrate of Raf-1, which in turn reduces the activation of ERK1 and ERK2, ultimately influencing AP-1 mediated transcription. The ability of RKIP to bind both active and inactive forms of Raf-1 highlights RKIP′s role as a critical regulator of cellular signaling, making anti-RKIP antibody (D-5) an essential tool for researchers studying the intricacies of MAP kinase pathway modulation and its implications in various diseases, including cancer.
