SEE ALSO...

RKIP Antibody (8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Raf kinase inhibitor protein (RKIP) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RKIP plays a crucial role in regulating the MAP kinase signaling pathway, which is essential for various cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. RKIP is primarily located in the cytosol, where RKIP interacts with key signaling molecules, including the serine/threonine kinase Raf-1. By binding to both active and inactive forms of Raf-1, RKIP modulates the activity of downstream effectors like MEK and ERK, thereby influencing cellular responses to growth factors and stress signals. RKIP′s ability to inhibit MEK activation by competing with its substrate is particularly important, as this mechanism helps maintain the balance of signaling pathways that can lead to oncogenic transformation when dysregulated. With versatile applications and significant role in cellular signaling, anti-RKIP antibody (8) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying MAP kinase pathway regulation and its implications in various diseases, including cancer.

I am using RKIP (8): sc-101504 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
