RhD is a critical component of the Rhesus blood group system, which plays a vital role in blood transfusion compatibility and pregnancy outcomes. RhD protein is primarily located on the surface of red blood cells, where RhD functions as an integral membrane protein that helps maintain erythrocyte membrane integrity.
