RhD/CE Antibody (BRIC69) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the RhD/CE protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). RhD/CE (BRIC69) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. The Rhesus (Rh) blood group system is one of the most complex and clinically significant blood group systems in humans, primarily due to its role in transfusion medicine and pregnancy. The RhD gene encodes the D antigen, which is the most immunogenic blood group antigen, while the RhCE gene contributes to the expression of additional antigens. The presence or absence of these antigens can lead to serious medical conditions, such as hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN), which occurs when an Rh-negative mother produces antibodies against Rh-positive fetal blood cells. The RhCED proteins are integral membrane proteins characterized by their 12-transmembrane helices, which are crucial for maintaining erythrocyte membrane integrity and facilitating the transport of ions and small molecules. Importantly, the antigenic activity of the Rh proteins is dependent on their interaction with Rh-associated glycoprotein (RhAG), forming a complex that is essential for proper erythrocyte function and immune response.
