RhD Antibody (55/2/376) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects RhD in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). RhD is a critical component of the Rhesus blood group system, encoded by the RHD gene, which is known for its role in determining blood type and its significance in transfusion medicine. RhD protein is primarily located in the membrane of red blood cells, where RhD functions as an integral membrane protein with 12 transmembrane helices, playing a vital role in maintaining erythrocyte membrane integrity and stability. This structural configuration is essential not only for the proper functioning of red blood cells but also for the prevention of hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN), a serious condition that can arise from Rh incompatibility between maternal and fetal blood types.
