RGS12 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects RGS12 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RGS12 is a member of the regulators of G-protein signaling (RGS) family, which plays a crucial role in modulating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathways. RGS12 functions as a GTPase-activating protein for Gi class alpha subunits, effectively shortening the lifespan of activated G proteins and fine-tuning cellular responses to hormones and neurotransmitters. RGS12 is characterized by a complex structure that includes a Ras-binding domain, PDZ and PTB domains, and unique "LGN motifs," which serve as guanine nucleotide exchange factors specific for G protein alpha-subunits. The human RGS12 gene, located on chromosome 4p16.3, produces twelve distinct transcripts through intricate splicing, with high expression levels in the brain and lung, and lower levels in tissues such as testis, heart, and spleen. The diverse expression and multifunctionality of RGS12 underscore its significance in various physiological processes, making anti-RGS12 antibody (A-2) an essential tool for researchers studying G protein signaling pathways and their implications in health and disease.
