SEE ALSO...

RCC1 Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RCC1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RCC1 (E-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RCC1, known as the regulator of chromosome condensation 1, plays a crucial role in regulating the small Ras-related protein Ran, which is essential for numerous cellular processes such as DNA replication, mitotic entry and exit, and the transport of RNA and proteins through the nuclear pore complex. RCC1 acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that facilitates the conversion of inactive Ran GDP to its active form, Ran GTP, thereby influencing the dynamics of nuclear transport and cell cycle progression. The balance between the active and inactive forms of Ran is tightly controlled by RCC1 and Ran GAP1, which enhances the hydrolysis of GTP to GDP, ensuring cellular processes are executed with precision. RCC1′s activity can be modulated by proteins such as Ran BP1, which inhibits RCC1, and Ran BP2, which serves as a docking site for Ran GTP at the nuclear pore complex, highlighting the intricate regulatory mechanisms that govern cellular function.
