Datasheets
  • PTPµ Antibody (BK2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a κ, cited in 2 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against a synthetic peptide from the extracellular segment of PTPμ
  • recommended for detection of full length PTPµ (200 kDa) and extracellular, E-subunit (100 kDa) of mouse, rat, human and Xenopus origin by WB, IP and IF; also reactive with additional species, including bovine
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG2a BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for PTPµ Antibody (BK2) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with PTPµ Antibody (BK2) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

PTPµ Antibody (BK2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects PTPµ in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). PTPµ, a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase family, is primarily localized to the cell membrane and plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling processes. Anti-PTPµ antibody (BK2) recognizes a unique structure including a conserved amino-terminal MAM domain, which is essential for homophilic binding, allowing PTPµ to interact with itself and potentially regulate the assembly and disassembly of cadherin/catenin complexes at cell junctions. This function is vital for maintaining tissue integrity and facilitating communication between cells, which is particularly important during development and in the context of cancer progression. Dysregulation of PTPµ has been implicated in various diseases, making PTPµ a significant target for research into therapeutic interventions. PTPµ monoclonal antibody (BK2) serves as an invaluable tool for studying the dynamics of cell adhesion and signaling pathways in various biological contexts.

Are there any issues with using sc-33651: PTPμ (BK2) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-33651 conjugates.
