SEE ALSO...

PTP1B Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PTP1B protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PTP1B antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PTP1B plays a crucial role in regulating insulin signaling and is involved in the negative regulation of the insulin receptor, making PTP1B a significant target for understanding metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes. Located primarily in the endoplasmic reticulum and cytoplasm, PTP1B′s positioning is essential for function, as PTP1B interacts with various signaling pathways that modulate cellular responses to insulin. PTP1B is synthesized as a 435 amino acid precursor, which is subsequently cleaved to produce the active 321 amino acid form, highlighting the importance of post-translational modifications in activation and function. With unique structural characteristics and regulatory roles, PTP1B serves as a vital component in cellular signaling, making PTP1B monoclonal antibody (D-4) an invaluable tool for researchers studying insulin resistance and related metabolic conditions.

Can PTP1B (D-4): sc-133259 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, PTP1B (D-4): sc-133259 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
