    SEE ALSO...

PTP IA-2β Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PTP IA-2 beta protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PTP IA-2β (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Protein-Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor-Type IA-2β (PTP IA-2β), also known as PTPRN2 or Phogrin, plays a crucial role in regulating insulin secretion as PTP IA-2β is localized in dense-core secretory vesicles of pancreatic islet cells. This localization allows PTP IA-2β to modulate signaling pathways involved in insulin release, thereby influencing glucose homeostasis. PTP IA-2β serves as an autoantigen associated with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), with autoantigenic epitopes residing within the cytoplasmic domain of this transmembrane protein. The PTPRN2 gene, which encodes PTP IA-2β, is located on chromosome 7q36 and is predominantly expressed in human brain and pancreas, as evidenced by Northern blot analysis revealing 5.5- and 3.7-kb transcripts. Three alternative splice variants of PTPRN2 produce distinct proteins, further underscoring the complexity and significance of PTP IA-2β in both normal physiology and disease states.
