PRMT6 Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects PRMT6 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRMT6, also known as HRMT1L6, is a crucial nuclear protein that plays a significant role in gene expression regulation through dimethyltransferase function, specifically targeting Histone H3 at arginine 2 (R2). This methylation event inhibits Histone H3 trimethylation at lysine 4 (K4), a modification associated with active transcription. By repressing genes activated by Histone H3 K4 trimethylation, PRMT6 serves as a key player in epigenetic regulation of transcription, influencing various biological processes including development and cellular response to stimuli. Additionally, PRMT6 has been implicated in HIV TAT protein methylation, suggesting a role in cellular innate immune response that restricts HIV replication.
