PRMT6 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRMT6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PRMT6 antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRMT6, also known as HRMT1L6, is a nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression through its function as a dimethyltransferase, specifically targeting Histone H3 at arginine 2 (R2). This methylation event inhibits the trimethylation of Histone H3 at lysine 4 (K4), a modification associated with active transcription, contributing to transcriptional repression of genes typically activated by H3 K4 trimethylation. PRMT6 also methylates HIV TAT protein, suggesting a role in cellular innate immunity by restricting HIV replication. PRMT6′s ability to modulate both histone and non-histone proteins highlights its importance in various cellular processes, making PRMT6 (D-5) monoclonal antibody an essential tool for studying epigenetic regulation and viral interactions.
