POLR2E Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects POLR2E protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-POLR2E antibody (B-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. POLR2E protein, also known as polymerase (RNA) II (DNA directed) polypeptide E, RPB5, XAP4, RPABC1, hRPB25, or hsRPB5, is a crucial 210 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in the transcription process by forming part of the RNA polymerase II complex. This complex is essential for synthesizing messenger RNA (mRNA) and ribosomal RNA precursors, as well as various functional non-coding RNAs and small RNAs, including 5S rRNA and transfer RNAs. POLR2E is particularly important because POLR2E interacts with TFIIF RAP 30, facilitating the association between RNA polymerase II and TFIIF, which is vital for the transcription initiation process. Understanding POLR2E function and interactions is critical for elucidating the mechanisms of gene expression regulation and the overall transcriptional landscape in eukaryotic cells.

Can POLR2E (B-5): sc-390979 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, POLR2E (B-5): sc-390979 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
