SEE ALSO...

Phospholamban Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects phospholamban protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-phospholamban antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Phospholamban plays a crucial role in cardiac muscle function by regulating calcium cycling within the sarcoplasmic reticulum, which is essential for proper heart contraction and relaxation. Located in the sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane, phospholamban modulates the activity of the sarco(endo)plasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase (SERCA2a), a key enzyme responsible for pumping calcium ions back into the sarcoplasmic reticulum after muscle contraction. When phosphorylated by various kinases, phospholamban undergoes a conformational change that reduces inhibitory effect on SERCA2a, thereby enhancing calcium reuptake and promoting faster relaxation of the cardiac muscle. This regulatory mechanism is vital for maintaining heart rhythm and overall cardiovascular health, making phospholamban a significant target for research in cardiac physiology and potential therapeutic interventions.

Why is phospholamban antibody (F-7): sc-393990 the recommended alternative to the now discontinued phospholamban (L-15): sc-21923?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The mouse monoclonal phospholamban antibody (F-7): sc-393990 is raised against a similar immunogen sequence as the goat polyclonal phospholamban (L-15): sc-21923. The monoclonal primary antibody also offers a higher degree of specificity and eliminates lot-to-lot variation. It is warrantied for all of the same applications as the discontinued polyclonal antibody: WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IF stainingThis antibody was used to IF staining HeLa cells. The antibody was specific and showed clear immunoreactive staining that is more better result thant the expensive anti phospholamban antibody.I only use the dilution 1:300 ,still specific staining.
