PGC-1α Antibody (4A8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets human PGC-1α, a key transcriptional co-activator crucial in regulating energy homeostasis, mitochondrial biogenesis, and thermogenesis. Anti-PGC-1α antibody (4A8) recognizes a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 689-798 of PGC-1α, a region integral to mediating protein-protein interactions. The structure of PGC-1α includes multiple functional domains, such as an N-terminal activation domain, an RNA recognition motif, a serine/arginine-rich region, and a C-terminal domain. These domains are critical for interacting with transcription factors like NRF-1 and PPARγ, which are essential in forming transcriptional complexes that control the expression of genes linked to oxidative metabolism. The structural features of PGC-1α enable regulation of chromatin remodeling, a process vital for adjusting cellular energy output in response to metabolic changes, making PGC-1α significant for understanding cellular energy regulation. PGC-1α monoclonal antibody (4A8) is validated for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), allowing for the detection and analysis of PGC-1α in human samples.
