PGAM1/4 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PGAM1/4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGAM1/4 (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PGAM1/4 protein plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism, specifically in the interconversion of 3-phosphoglycerate and 2-phosphoglycerate, which are key intermediates in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining energy homeostasis and facilitating efficient glucose use, particularly in tissues with high metabolic demands such as heart and skeletal muscle. The PGAM family consists of several isozymes, including PGAM1 and PGAM2, which can form homodimers or heterodimers, influencing functional properties and tissue distribution. Notably, PGAM4, previously thought to be a pseudogene, has been shown to encode a functional protein, highlighting the evolutionary significance of this protein family. Anti-PGAM1/4 antibody (D-5) effectively detects these proteins across different species, making PGAM1/4 (D-5) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways and their implications in health and disease.
