PFKL Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PFKL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PFKL Antibody (A-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PFKL, or phosphofructokinase, liver, is a key regulatory enzyme in the glycolytic pathway, catalyzing the conversion of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate, a critical step in glucose metabolism. PFKL is predominantly expressed in tissues involved in gluconeogenesis, such as the liver and kidney, where PFKL plays a vital role in maintaining glucose homeostasis. PFKL forms a tetrameric structure composed of different isoenzymes, which allows for tissue-specific regulation of glycolysis. PFKL overexpression in transgenic mice has been linked to impaired glucose-induced insulin secretion, indicating a potential role in diabetes pathophysiology. Elevated levels of PFKL have been observed in patients with Down′s syndrome, suggesting PFKL may contribute to the metabolic dysregulation associated with this condition.
