SEE ALSO...

PAM Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PAM protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PAM (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Peptidylglycine alpha-amidating monooxygenase (PAM) plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of bioactive alpha-amidated peptides, which are essential for numerous physiological processes, including hormone regulation and neurotransmission. This bifunctional enzyme catalyzes the conversion of glycine-extended precursors into their active forms, thereby influencing the activity of various neuropeptides and hormones. PAM′s function is highlighted by tissue-specific expression, particularly in the ovary, testis, lung, heart septum, anterior pituitary, and hypothalamus, where PAM contributes to the modulation of critical signaling pathways. PAM undergoes complex post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which are vital for proper localization and function within the cell. PAM′s cytosolic domain contains multiple signals that dictate subcellular localization, and PAM interacts with PAM cytosolic interactor proteins (P-CIPs), such as P-CIP2, which phosphorylates PAM at serine 949, further emphasizing the intricate regulatory mechanisms governing PAM′s activity.
