Paip1 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Paip1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Paip1, or PABP-interacting protein 1, plays a crucial role in the regulation of translation by binding to the polyadenylate-binding protein (PABP), which is essential for mRNA stability and translation initiation. The interaction between Paip1 and PABP enhances the translation of specific mRNAs, thereby influencing protein synthesis in response to cellular signals. Notably, Paip1 contains an eIF4A-binding region and a proline-rich N terminus, which are vital for its function in promoting translation. The human Paip1 gene encodes a 480 amino acid protein, and Paip1 overexpression in COS-7 cells stimulates translation, potentially by facilitating a physical link between the mRNA termini. Understanding Paip1 function is important as Paip1 not only regulates gene expression but also plays a significant role in various cellular processes, including cell growth and response to stress, making Paip1 a key player in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
