p54/nrb Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects p54/nrb protein in mouse, rat, and human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p54/nrb antibody (A-11) is available in non-conjugated form and conjugated to agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants. p54/nrb, a nuclear RNA-binding protein also called NONO, plays a crucial role in forming and maintaining paraspeckles, subnuclear structures located in interchromatin nucleoplasmic space. These structures regulate gene expression and RNA processing by sequestering specific RNA molecules and proteins, influencing mRNA stability and localization. Paraspeckles co-localize with splicing speckles, sites of splicing factor accumulation, highlighting RNA processing pathway connections. p54/nrb moves dynamically between nucleolus and paraspeckles, translocating to distinct caps in nucleolar periphery during transcriptional inhibition, emphasizing roles in cellular stress responses and gene expression regulation. Originally purified from HeLa cells, p54/nrb contains two RNA recognition motifs and shares homology with human splicing factor PSF and Drosophila NONA/BJ6, essential for normal vision and courtship behaviors. The shared DBHS (Drosophila behavior, human splicing) domain among these proteins may regulate various pathways at pre-mRNA splicing level, making p54/nrb essential in RNA metabolism networks.
