p54/nrb Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects p54/nrb protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p54/nrb (G-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p54/nrb protein, also known as a nuclear RNA-binding protein, plays a crucial role in the formation and function of paraspeckles, which are subnuclear structures located in the interchromatin nucleoplasmic space. These paraspeckles are essential for the regulation of gene expression and RNA processing, as they serve as storage sites for specific RNA molecules and proteins, including p54/nrb, paraspeckle protein 1 (PSP1), and paraspeckle protein 2 (PSP2). Dynamic movement of p54/nrb between the nucleolus and paraspeckles highlights p54/nrb′s importance in cellular responses to transcriptional changes, particularly when transcription is inhibited. Originally purified from HeLa cells, p54/nrb contains two RNA recognition motifs and shares significant homology with human splicing factor PSF and Drosophila NONA/BJ6, which is vital for normal vision and courtship behaviors. The shared DBHS (Drosophila behavior, human splicing) domain among these proteins suggests a potential role in regulating pre-mRNA splicing pathways, making p54/nrb a key player in the intricate network of RNA metabolism and gene regulation.
