SEE ALSO...

p22HBP Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects p22HBP of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p22HBP (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p22HBP, also known as heme binding protein 1 (HEBP1), is a 189 amino acid intracellular tetrapyrrole-binding protein that plays a crucial role in cellular detoxification by sequestering free porphyrinogens, thereby preventing potential cellular toxicity. p22HBP exists as a monomer and is primarily localized in the cytoplasm, where p22HBP features a 21 amino acid chemoattractant at its N-terminus that serves as a natural ligand for the formyl peptide receptor 3 (FPR3). As a member of the HEBP family, p22HBP exhibits a strong binding affinity for N-methylprotoporphyrin and metalloporphyrins, which is significant for its function in heme metabolism and cellular homeostasis. The gene encoding p22HBP is located on human chromosome 12, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including hypochondrogenesis and Noonan syndrome, highlighting the importance of p22HBP in both normal physiology and disease states.

What blocking solution should I use with p22HBP (E-3): sc-398750 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
