p22HBP Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects p22HBP of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p22HBP antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p22HBP, also known as heme binding protein 1 (HEBP1), is a 189 amino acid intracellular tetrapyrrole-binding protein that plays a crucial role in cellular detoxification by sequestering free porphyrinogens, thereby preventing potential cellular toxicity. p22HBP is primarily located in the cytoplasm and exists as a monomer, featuring a 21 amino acid chemoattractant at its N-terminus that serves as a natural ligand for the formyl peptide receptor 3 (FPR3). p22HBP binds N-methylprotoporphyrin and metalloporphyrins with high affinity, underscoring its importance in heme metabolism and cellular homeostasis. The gene encoding p22HBP is situated on human chromosome 12, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including Noonan syndrome and trisomy 12p, which can lead to significant developmental and neurological challenges.
