Can Occludin (F-11): sc-133255 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your question. Yes, Occludin (F-11): sc-133255 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst antibdy ever We bought this antibdoy thinking that it would work looking at the examples provided on the web page. It never worked in our hands even when used at 1:200 for Western blot analysis. We are using polarized airway epithelial cell lysates in which we usually saw abundat occludin when we were using antibdoy from Cell Signaling, which is now discontinued. As I had experienced before Santa Cruz antibodies are always hit or miss. So you have excess funds go for it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as other santa cruz antibodies May not be good to detect endogenous Ocln in pancreatic cancer cell lines. I tried immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting which led to not satisfactory results.
