SEE ALSO...

OAS1 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OAS1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OAS1 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The 2′-, 5′-oligoadenylate synthetases (OASs) are crucial interferon-induced proteins that play a significant role in the cellular response to viral infections, as well as in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. OAS1, functioning as a homotetramer, is particularly notable for catalyzing the synthesis of 2′-, 5′-oligomers of adenosine (2-5As). OAS1 binds to double-stranded RNA and polymerizes ATP into PPP(A2′P5′A)N oligomers, which in turn activate latent RNase L. Once activated, RNase L cleaves single-stranded RNAs, leading to the inhibition of cellular protein synthesis and effectively impairing viral replication. Additionally, OAS1, a protein composed of 400 amino acids, is essential for evaluating the interferon response in RNA interference studies and has been implicated in susceptibility to diabetes mellitus. anti-OAS1 antibody (F-3) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying viral resistance mechanisms and cellular responses to stress.

How do I use the blocking peptide sc-374656 P? Can I load it on a gel as a positive control?

Asked by: TinTin
The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. It is not recommended to be loaded on the gel as positive control as it is very small. For full protocol details on using the blocking peptide, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
