NHE-3 Antibody (53) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NHE-3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-NHE-3 antibody (53) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). NHE-3 protein plays a crucial role in regulating sodium transport and fluid reabsorption, primarily localizing to the apical membrane of renal proximal tubules. This localization allows NHE-3 to effectively mediate the exchange of sodium ions for hydrogen ions, which is essential for maintaining intracellular pH and cell volume. NHE-3 is involved in the body′s response to changes in blood pressure, as NHE-3 translocates to internal pools to facilitate natriuresis when necessary. Beyond the kidneys, NHE-3 is also expressed in the stomach, where NHE-3 contributes to mucosal protection by secreting protons that diffuse into the mucous cells, highlighting its importance in both renal and gastrointestinal physiology.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-136368 X be used instead of the standard form sc-136368?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.

Is this the same clone that sold by Transduction Laboratories and used in Kidney International 64 (2004), p2133-2141?

Thank you for your question. The (53) clone for NHE-3 is a published mouse monoclonal antibody that is commercially available from a variety of different sources. We have not been able to find the complete text of the article you cited, however if the materials and methods cite the 53 clone, then it is presumably the same antibody.
