NHE-1 Antibody (54) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NHE-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-NHE-1 antibody (54) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). NHE-1, also known as solute carrier family 9 isoform-1 (SLC9A1), plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular homeostasis by regulating intracellular pH and cell volume through the exchange of sodium (Na+) and hydrogen (H+) ions across the plasma membrane. NHE-1 is predominantly located in the plasma membrane of various mammalian tissues, where NHE-1 functions as a vital membrane-associated pH regulator. Proper functioning of NHE-1 is essential for numerous physiological processes, including cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis, as NHE-1 helps prevent cellular acidosis and maintain optimal conditions for enzymatic activities. Additionally, NHE-1 is characterized by ten transmembrane domains, an N-terminal amphipathic domain, and two potential N-glycosylation sites, which are important for stability and function. These unique structural features of NHE-1 not only facilitate its role as a sodium-hydrogen exchanger but also influence interaction with other proteins and signaling pathways, making NHE-1 a significant target for research in various fields, including cardiovascular and renal physiology.
