NFκB p65 Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody raised against an epitope mapping between amino acids 521-550 at the C-terminus of human NFκB p65, with reactivity in mouse, rat, and human samples. NFκB p65, also known as RELA, is a critical subunit of the NFκB transcription factor complex, which plays an essential role in regulating immune responses, inflammation, and cell survival. NFκB p65 is primarily located in the cytoplasm in its inactive state, where NFκB p65 is bound to the inhibitory protein IκB. Upon activation by stimuli such as cytokines or stress signals, IκB is phosphorylated and degraded, allowing NFκB p65 to translocate to the nucleus. In the nucleus, NFκB p65 dimerizes with other NFκB subunits, such as p50, and binds to specific DNA sequences to regulate the transcription of genes involved in inflammation, immune responses, and cell proliferation. This nuclear localization is crucial, as NFκB p65 controls the expression of many target genes that are vital for immune system function and cellular stress responses.
