SEE ALSO...

NF-M/H Antibody (RMdO-20) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects neurofilament-M (NF-M) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). NF-M is a crucial component of the neuronal cytoskeleton, playing a significant role in maintaining the structural integrity and function of neurons. NF-M is part of the intermediate filament family and works alongside neurofilament heavy polypeptide (NF-H) to regulate axon caliber, which is essential for proper nerve signal transmission. The dynamic nature of neurofilaments, including NF-M, is underscored by numerous phosphorylation sites that are targeted by various protein kinases, such as protein kinase A and cyclin-dependent kinase 5. These modifications are vital for normal functioning of neurons, as modifications influence interactions between neurofilaments and other cytoskeletal elements, including microtubules and actin filaments. Alterations in NF-M phosphorylation and metabolism are often linked to neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson′s disease, and Alzheimer′s disease, making NF-M a key protein of interest in neurological research. Anti-NF-M antibody (RMdO-20) provides a reliable tool for studying these critical processes and their implications in health and disease.
