NELF-D Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NELF-D in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NELF-D, also known as TH1, NELF-C, HSPC130, or TH1L, is a 590 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating transcription elongation by negatively influencing RNA polymerase II activity. NELF-D is primarily localized in the nucleus, where NELF-D functions as a key component of the NELF complex, essential for controlling transcriptional pausing. NELF-D′s ability to induce chromatin unfolding is particularly significant, as this function may contribute to gene expression regulation in various physiological and pathological contexts, including tumorigenesis. NELF-D is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 20, a chromosome comprising about 2% of the human genome and containing over 600 genes associated with various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and syndromes affecting reproductive health. NELF-D expression across multiple tissues, including liver, heart, kidney, lung, brain, placenta, and pancreas, underscores NELF-D′s importance in cellular function and development. Anti-NELF-D antibody (E-8) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating transcription regulation mechanisms and their implications in health and disease.
