NELF-D Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NELF-D protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NELF-D (C-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NELF-D protein, also known as negative elongation factor C/D, TH1, NELF-C, HSPC130, or TH1L, is a 590 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of transcription elongation by RNA polymerase II. NELF-D is primarily located in the nucleus, where NELF-D serves as a key component of the NELF complex, which negatively regulates transcription elongation, thereby influencing gene expression. This regulation is vital for maintaining proper cellular function and development, as such control allows for precise timing of gene expression. NELF-D is expressed in various tissues, including the liver, heart, kidney, lung, brain, placenta, and pancreas, and NELF-D dysregulation has been implicated in tumorigenesis. The gene encoding NELF-D is located on human chromosome 20, a chromosome that comprises approximately 2% of the human genome and contains over 600 genes associated with various diseases, including Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
