NDUFS1 Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NDUFS1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NDUFS1 is a crucial component of the multisubunit NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase complex I, which serves as the first enzyme complex in the mitochondrial electron transport chain, playing a vital role in cellular respiration and energy production. This 75 kDa protein is the largest subunit of complex I and is believed to be the initial iron-sulfur protein that accepts electrons from NADH-flavoprotein reductase, potentially forming part of the active site where NADH is oxidized. The proper functioning of NDUFS1 is essential not only for efficient ATP synthesis but also for maintaining mitochondrial integrity, as NDUFS1 is a critical substrate for caspases during apoptosis.
