NDUFS1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NDUFS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NDUFS1 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NDUFS1, a 75 kDa subunit of the NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase complex (complex I), plays a pivotal role in the mitochondrial electron transport chain, which is essential for ATP production through oxidative phosphorylation. NDUFS1 is crucial for transferring electrons from NADH to the electron transport chain and serves as the first iron-sulfur protein to accept electrons from NADH-flavoprotein reductase within the complex. This function maintains cellular energy levels and overall metabolic health. NDUFS1 is also implicated in apoptosis, serving as a critical substrate for caspases in mitochondria, with cleavage necessary for mitochondrial changes associated with programmed cell death. NDUFS1′s interactions with other proteins within the electron transport chain underscore its importance in cellular respiration and energy metabolism, making anti-NDUFS1 antibody (E-8) an invaluable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial function and related pathologies.

I am using NDUFS1 (E-8): sc-271510 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good antibodyI got the sample of NDUFS1 antibody (E-8) about 2 months ago. The antibody detected the band whose size is supposed to be NDUFS1 in 293T cells, and was very clean. When I transfected 293T cells with empty vector or NDUFS1 expression vector, WB with this antibody clearly showed that cells transfected with NDUFS1 expression vector had much higher levels than the cells transfected with empty vector.
