SEE ALSO...

myotubularin Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects myotubularin of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). myotubularin (F-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. myotubularin functions as a lipid phosphatase, specifically acting on phosphatidylinositol 3-monophosphate, which is vital for regulating the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI 3-kinase) pathway and membrane trafficking. This regulation influences cellular processes such as growth, survival, and metabolism, which are essential for maintaining muscle function. Mutations in MTM1 are linked to X-linked recessive myotubular myopathy, a severe congenital muscular disorder characterized by profound hypotonia and muscle weakness, often resulting in early postnatal mortality. MTM1 is located in a critical region on the X chromosome and encodes a 603 amino-acid protein that is highly conserved across species. hMTMR2, which is also implicated in muscle and nerve disorders, highlights the interconnectedness of these proteins in cellular function and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377309 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
