MYBPC3 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MYBPC3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MYBPC3 (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MYBPC3, or myosin-binding protein C, cardiac, plays a crucial role in cardiac muscle contraction by interacting with myosin and actin filaments, thereby regulating the contractile function of the heart. MYBPC3 is predominantly located in the crossbridge-bearing zone of the A bands in vertebrate striated muscle, where MYBPC3 contributes to the structural integrity and function of the sarcomere. Proper localization of MYBPC3 ensures correct assembly of the thick filament and regulation of myosin ATPase activity, which is vital for muscle contraction. Dysregulation or mutations in MYBPC3 can lead to familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 4 (CMH4), a genetic heart disorder characterized by abnormal thickening of the heart muscle, particularly affecting the interventricular septum, which can lead to serious complications. MYBPC3 is located on chromosome 11p11.2, highlighting MYBPC3′s significance in cardiac health and disease.
