MUS81 Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MUS81 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MUS81 antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MUS81 plays a critical role in DNA repair mechanisms, particularly in resolving DNA structures that arise during replication stress. MUS81 encodes a helix-hairpin-helix protein essential for processing stalled replication forks and resolving Holliday junctions, which are crucial for maintaining genomic stability. MUS81 interaction with Eme1 forms an endonuclease complex that specifically targets and cleaves DNA at these junctions, ensuring proper DNA repair and preventing harmful DNA lesion accumulation. MUS81 expression increases in response to DNA-damaging agents, highlighting MUS81′s importance in cellular responses to genotoxic stress. Human MUS81 gene is located on chromosome 11q13 and produces a protein consisting of 551 amino acids, underscoring MUS81′s evolutionary conservation and significance across species.
