SEE ALSO...

MRP1 Antibody (QCRL-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the MRP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). MRP1 Antibody (QCRL-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The MRP1 protein, also known as Multidrug Resistance-Associated Protein 1, plays a crucial role in cellular detoxification and the efflux of a wide range of substrates, including drugs and endogenous compounds, thereby contributing to multidrug resistance in cancer cells. MRP1′s function is particularly important in the context of chemotherapy, as overexpression of MRP1 can lead to reduced drug accumulation within cancer cells, ultimately resulting in treatment failure. MRP1 is an integral membrane protein that is predominantly expressed in various tissues, including the brain, lungs, and testis, as well as in peripheral blood cells, highlighting MRP1′s significance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions. Understanding the role of MRP1 in drug resistance mechanisms can provide valuable insights for developing more effective therapeutic strategies against resistant tumors.

What experimental procedure should be used when using the conjugated MRP1 (QCRL-1, sc-18835) monoclonal antibody in flow cytometry? Intracellular or surface staining?

Asked by: K S K
Thank you for your question. We recommend using a protocol of direct staining of cell surface antigens (live cells) with this conjugated mouse monoclonal antibody, MRP1 (QCRL-1): sc-18835. A link to our recommended protocol is provided below. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/flow-cytometry

What negative control should be used when using the conjugated version of MRP1 (QCRL-1): sc-18835 monoclonal antibody in flow cytometry?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend using the isotype specific normal mouse IgG conjugated to the same fluorophore. For example, if you are using sc-18835 PE, then you would want to use normal mouse IgG1 PE, sc-2866.
