Mpk1 Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Mpk1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mpk1, also known as Slt2, is a crucial component of the MAP kinase signaling cascade that plays a vital role in maintaining cell wall integrity in yeast. Mpk1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is activated in response to cell wall stress, which is essential for yeast′s ability to adapt to environmental changes and maintain cellular structure. Mpk1 function is critical, as mutants lacking Mpk1 exhibit severe defects in cell lysis due to compromised cell wall synthesis, leading to impaired growth and survival. Additionally, Mpk1 interacts with various upstream kinases, including Bck1 and Mkk1/Mkk2, which are integral to the signaling pathway that regulates cell wall integrity. Anti-Mpk1 antibody (H-2) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying the dynamics of this important signaling pathway and its implications in yeast biology.
