Mpk1 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Mpk1 protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Mpk1 antibody (D-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mpk1 protein, also known as Slt2, plays a crucial role in maintaining cell wall integrity in yeast through involvement in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascade. This cascade responds to environmental stresses and regulates cell growth and division. Upstream kinases, including Mkk1 and Mkk2, activate Mpk1, which are activated by Bck1, a MAP kinase kinase kinase. Proper functioning of this signaling pathway remains vital, as mutants lacking cascade components exhibit severe defects in cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis. Additionally, Bck2 has been identified as a suppressor of deletions in Pkc1 and Mpk1, highlighting intricate regulatory mechanisms that ensure yeast cells can adapt to their environment.
