    SEE ALSO...

MORF4/L1/2 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MORF4/L1/2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MORF4/L1/2 (D-9) antibody is available as a non-conjugated format. The MORF4/L1/2 protein family includes mortality factor 4 (MORF4), mortality factor 4 like 1 (MORF4L1), also known as MORF4-related gene 15 (MRG15), and mortality factor 4 like 2 (MORF4L2), also referred to as MORF-4 related gene X (MRGX). The human MORF4 gene is located on chromosome 4q34.1, while MORF4L1 and MORF4L2 are mapped to chromosomes 15q25.1 and Xq22.2, respectively. A notable feature of these proteins is their C-terminal leucine zipper, which is crucial for protein-protein interactions and may influence their functional roles in cellular processes. Specifically, MORF4L1 has been shown to interact with retinoblastoma tumor suppressor protein (Rb) and PAM14, indicating involvement in transcriptional regulation. Additionally, MORF4L1 associates with histone acetyl transferase MOF, further linking MORF4L1 to chromatin remodeling and gene expression modulation. The interactions among MORF4, MORF4L1, and MORF4L2 with mSin3A and TLE (transducin-like enhancer of split) suggest a potential role in transcriptional repression, which is particularly important in cellular senescence and tumor suppression. In Purkinje cells, MORF4L1 is localized to both dendrites and nuclei, highlighting MORF4L1′s significance in neuronal function and signaling pathways.
