MFF Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MFF (mitochondrial fission factor) in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MFF is a crucial 342 amino acid single-pass type IV membrane protein located in the outer membrane of mitochondria, playing a vital role in mitochondrial and peroxisomal fission, which is essential for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis and regulating apoptosis. The proper functioning of MFF facilitates the dynamic remodeling of mitochondria, allowing cells to adapt to metabolic demands and stress conditions. MFF is expressed abundantly in various tissues, including the stomach, heart, muscle, liver, brain, and kidney, and exists as five alternatively spliced isoforms encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 2q36.3. This chromosome is significant as it is the second largest in the human genome, containing over 1,400 genes and being associated with several genetic diseases. MFF (F-6) antibody provides a reliable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial dynamics and related pathologies, enabling insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying various diseases linked to mitochondrial dysfunction.
