Med15 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Med15 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Med15 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Med15, also known as Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 15, ARC105, CTG7A, PCQAP, TIG1, or TNRC7, is a crucial 788 amino acid component of the Mediator complex, which plays a vital role in the regulation of gene expression by serving as a bridge between transcriptional activators and RNA polymerase II. Med15 is predominantly located in the nucleus and cytoplasm, with the highest expression levels found in the placenta and blood, highlighting its importance in various biological processes, including lipid homeostasis. The gene encoding Med15 is situated on chromosome 22, a region associated with DiGeorge syndrome, indicating that the loss of Med15 may contribute to this congenital disorder. Additionally, Med15 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in the expression of two isoforms, which may have distinct regulatory roles in transcriptional control.
