Datasheets
  • MCT4 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ, cited in 7 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 376-465 mapping within a C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of MCT4 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of MCT4 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • See MCT4 (D-1): sc-376140 for MCT4 antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG2b BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for MCT4 Antibody (G-9) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with MCT4 Antibody (G-9) (see ordering information below).

MCT4 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect Monocarboxylate Transporter 4 (MCT4) across mouse, rat, and human species using western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCT4 monoclonal antibody (G-9) specifically targets amino acids 376-465 within the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of human MCT4, ensuring precise binding and reliable results. MCT4 is a member of the solute carrier 16A (SLC16A) family of proteins, localized primarily to the plasma membrane of cells, where MCT4 plays a crucial role in transporting lactate and other monocarboxylates out of cells. This function is essential for maintaining intracellular pH balance and enabling sustained glycolysis, particularly in highly glycolytic tissues such as skeletal muscle and in cancer cells where rapid lactate production occurs due to the Warburg effect. By effectively exporting lactate, MCT4 helps prevent intracellular acidification, thereby supporting cellular metabolism and survival under anaerobic conditions. Strategic location on the plasma membrane makes MCT4 a key player in metabolic flexibility and a vital target for research into cancer metabolism and other diseases characterized by altered lactate transport. Anti-MCT4 antibody (G-9) is available in non-conjugated form as well as conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatile options for diverse experimental needs. MCT4 (G-9) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying localization, expression, and functional role of MCT4 in various physiological and pathological contexts, making MCT4 (G-9) antibody indispensable for advancing understanding of cellular metabolism and identifying potential therapeutic targets.

I'm experiencing some problems with this antibody in my western blot experiments. Do you have any tips how to use the antibody? E.g. protein lysis method, dilution factor, amount protein etc...... Note: even 1:100 dilution did not work well.

Can MCT4 (G-9): sc-376139 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, MCT4 (G-9): sc-376139 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
