SEE ALSO...

MCM5 Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MCM5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MCM5 antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) family of proteins, which includes MCM2, MCM3, MCM4 (Cdc21), MCM5 (Cdc46), MCM6 (Mis5), and MCM7 (Cdc47), plays a crucial role in regulating DNA replication, ensuring that replication occurs only once per cell cycle. MCM5 is essential for forming the MCM2-7 complex, which acts as a helicase during DNA unwinding, a critical step for DNA replication. Proper functioning of MCM5 maintains genomic stability, as any dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and contribute to oncogenesis. MCM proteins are tightly regulated by E2F transcription factors and various protein kinases, which help maintain the post-replicative state of the cell. MCM5 is also involved in activating Stat1α transcription in response to interferon-gamma, highlighting its role in both cell cycle regulation and immune response.
